Believe it! Sprinkler irrigation at lowest cost

But still many farmers have some doubts about Rain Gun Irrigation System. We are trying to clear all their doubts via this article.

1) Which motor should we use for Rain Gun?

Ans: – Rain gun is a modern sprinkler irrigation technique and Big Spray Water Gun which requires pressure for its operation. Normally Rain Gun starts working at a pressure of 2 Kg but for its full fledge operation a water pressure of 4 Kg is required. We suggest to use a motor with 3HP capacity to operate one Rain Gun. You can operate two on 5 HP and three on 7Hp accordingly.

While selecting the capacity of motor you have to think about water level of water source from which you need to suck the water, length at which you have to conduct the water, availability of power Etc. If all these things are ok many farmers operated Rain Gun on 2 HP motor also.

For Rain Gun you can use Solar Pump, Diesel Engine, Submersible pump, Monoblock pump also provided that they should generate required pressure.

2) How should we come to know about the required Pressure?

Ans :- We had made a provision for fitting pressure meter on Rain Gun Stand but the main question is about knowing pressure before purchase of Rain Gun. For that you should think about our suggestion to operate one Rain Gun on 3HP, Two on 5 HP and Three on 7 HP.

If the size of your farm is larger then divide the farm in to equal pieces of one acre each and install cock system to get required pressure. You should have one Bi pass at motor so that you can control pressure by releasing valve to have water flow of required pressure only.

If you want to install more than one Rain Gun follow the principle of sprinkler irrigation system that we should have maximum overlapping so that there will be no dry patch in the field. Refer following figure –

3) If there is danger of bursting pipe due to excess pressure what should we do?

Ans:- First of we suggested you to have a Bi pass arrangement near the motor to control pressure. Secondly you can use one of our special safety valve to eradicate this problem ‘ Heera Pressure Relief Valve’ Using this valve you can set the pressure as you want. See the following picture-

4) Rain Gun rotates in circle and if we have square or rectangular field can we use Rain Gun Irrigation?

Ans :- Though Rain Gun Rotates in circular form we had given special locking arrangement to Rain Gun so that you can lock it at any angle ranging from 0 to 360 degrees. Using this arrangement you can irrigate any portion of your field easily using Rain Gun. See the following picture –

5) Does Rain Gun shower cause damage to our plants?

Ans:- According to its name Rain Gun showers like rain. When the Rain Gun is getting enough pressure it sprinkles very minute water droplets on plants so that dust, insects and disease causing organisms get washed out form leaves of plants. It never cause damage to crops. If there is drop in pressure the size of the drops may become large.
